Born and raised in Arima, situated in
north central Trinidad some twentysix
kilometers due east of Port-of -
Spain, Sherwin Gardner’s arrival into
this world was almost non-existent.
Sherwin’s mother, Merle Gardner, fell
ill twenty weeks into a pregnancy she
was unaware of. Against doctor’s
advice that encouraged her to abort
her fetus, she delivered Sherwin into
this world on Valentine’s Day,February 14, 1979.
