I stared at my hand in disbelief. I literally could not accept what my
eyes were seeing as fact. The four
pinnacles of my fingers stood
straight up—except the first
one. It
was bent unnaturally backwards
with blood spilling out from the
base.
And then it slipped even
further away from it’s rightful
foundation.
A vein in my wrist
burned hot as a red geiser flew into
the air above my head. I began to
realize that I wasn’t daydreaming.
